What Is Plonk?
Plonk is a free endless arcade game built for Android by Exlo Studio. You control a glowing orb navigating through an ever-accelerating star field. The further you go, the faster it gets, and the harder it becomes to survive. There are no levels, no checkpoints — just one continuous run, a score to beat, and a sky full of constellations waiting to be unlocked.
100 Constellations
Unlock real constellations from Orion to Andromeda by surviving long enough to collect their stars.
Three Powerups
Shield, slow motion, and magnetic field. Use them wisely — each run gives you limited energy.
Weekly Leaderboard
Rankings reset every week. Every Monday is a fresh shot at the top spot.
No Forced Ads
Free to download and play. Ads are opt-in only. No interruptions mid-run.
How to Play
The controls are intentionally simple. Tap and hold to steer, release to change direction. In the first few seconds the star field feels manageable — almost calm. Then it accelerates, and survival becomes the only goal.
- Collect glowing stars as you fly past them. Each star contributes toward unlocking a constellation.
- Activate powerups by tapping the on-screen buttons. The shield absorbs one hit. Slow motion gives you breathing room. The magnetic field pulls nearby stars toward you.
- The weekly leaderboard tracks your top score for the current week. Scores reset every Monday at midnight UTC.
- Some constellations require very high scores to unlock. Getting to Andromeda takes practice.
The Constellation System
Most endless games reward progress with abstract badges or generic trophies. Plonk takes a different approach: every milestone is tied to a real astronomical constellation. The 100 included constellations span the full sky — from well-known patterns like Orion, Taurus, and Leo, to less familiar ones like Sculptor and Pictor.
Unlocking a constellation reveals its name and pattern on a dedicated screen. It gives the game a quiet sense of exploration beyond just chasing a high score.
Built by One Developer, Mostly with AI
Plonk was built solo over two months using Unity for Android. Roughly 90% of the code was written by AI coding agents (Claude Code and Codex), with the developer directing, reviewing, and filling the gaps where AI fell short — particularly on UI and visual polish.
The backend uses Firebase for leaderboards, authentication, and player data. Score integrity is treated seriously: the same protections that apply to most app-based leaderboards are in place, making manipulation as difficult as in any comparable title.
Dette er Exlo Studios andre Android-spill. Det første var Mattis, en digital versjon av et tradisjonelt norsk kortspill.
Why Plonk?
The name comes from the satisfying, low-effort sound of something landing exactly where it should. It fits an arcade game that rewards instinct over strategy, muscle memory over planning.
The game is free because the goal was to get it played, not monetized. No paywalled constellations, no energy meters, no timers. Just the game.
Download Plonk for Android
Plonk is available free on the Google Play Store. It runs on Android 8.0 and above, requires no account to play, and has no mandatory ads. The weekly leaderboard is optional and requires a Google sign-in only if you want to submit a score.
